Mouse over the pin markers to see quick pop-ups of the names of the colleges that were returned by your search. You can click on the ones that interest you to see more extensive information about the colleges and links to relevant resources on the web.
Favorites and Checklists
If you're logged in as a Protoglobe or Facebook user, then you'll have some additional functionality while browsing the map. When you click on the pin, a link should appear above the college information labelled 'Add to Favorites'. Once clicked, it should quickly change to 'Remove from Favorites', meaning that it has been added to a list of favorites under your account.
If you follow the 'Favorites' link at the top of this page, then you'll be provided a list of colleges that you currently have marked as favorites. Next to each one, you'll be presented with a link called 'Application Checklist'. This application checklist that will appear contains two sections: (1) a generic checklist of items that we think may apply to a typical college application process, such as filling out the application, applying for financial aid, possibly arranging on-campus housing, and probably buying books, and (2) a list of specific application requirements that were indicated by the institution from IPEDS 2006. As you check or uncheck each item, that selection is automatically saved for the next time you view the list.
